Lead and helpers
Every work order has one lead mechanic. Bigger jobs can take helpers as well, each working under the same work order.
Fleet maintenance from $2 CAD per vehicle a month, billed annually.

Each work order gets a lead mechanic and, when needed, helpers. Their labour is timed and the office can watch progress, while mechanics work in the browser on a phone or a shop computer and never see repair costs.
Included from the Pro plan

| WO-3184, T-219 brake chamber | Waiting for parts |

Timer running on WO-3193
Every work order has one lead mechanic. Bigger jobs can take helpers as well, each working under the same work order.
On assignment the lead is sent a text and an email, and accepting the job shows the office it is in hand.
Each mechanic clocks their own time on the job with a start and stop timer, and a manual entry patches any gap.
Hourly rates and the parts and labour totals exist, but the Mechanic role shows none of them.
Comments trigger email alerts, and before and after pictures can be added straight from the phone camera.
Mark a job as waiting for parts and its creator gets an email; restart it and the lead hears about it by email and text.
Signed in under the Mechanic role, a mechanic sees work-order pages and nothing more. The My Work page holds their assigned jobs, so the shift starts with their own queue instead of loads, settlements or office reports.
Nothing has to be downloaded. The web app runs in any browser, on a phone under the truck or a computer at the parts counter, and each job shows its status, from open and accepted through in progress and waiting for parts to completed or cancelled, so the office can check on it without a walk through the shop.
Because every mechanic has their own timer, a brake job on T-219 shared by a lead and a helper keeps two separate sets of hours. A forgotten timer is fixed with a manual entry, and the mechanic’s hourly rate converts the hours into the labour line next to the parts.
Keeping costs out of the Mechanic role means you can measure true labour cost without showing wage rates to everyone in the bay. Work order totals flow into cost per vehicle on the maintenance costs page, and a mechanic’s history can be downloaded as a CSV. All of this is part of Pro; compare plans on pricing.
How it works
Each mechanic gets the Mechanic role and an hourly rate.
Pick the lead and the helpers; the lead is texted and emailed at once.
Once the lead accepts, timers run and comments and pictures collect on the job.
Complete the work order, and the office gets totals the mechanics never see.
